Clipit is a film competition open to students from government and aided primary schools in Hong Kong and secondary schools offering the Three-year Senior Secondary English Language Curriculum.

The Clipit competition is organised by the Native-speaking English Teacher (NET) Section, Curriculum Development Institute (CDI), Education Bureau (EDB) in collaboration with HKEdCity, the Hong Kong Maritime Museum (HKMM), the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao (EU), media partner Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) as well as South Island School (SIS) and Chinese International School (CIS) Film and Media departments.

The aims of the Clipit competition are to:
1. develop primary and secondary students’ English language proficiency through a competition which requires them to respond in English;
2.  enhance students’ awareness and appreciation of English;
3. give students an opportunity to use English in a creative way involving multimodal technology;
4. promote the use of English language to discuss topics relevant to primary and secondary students; and
5. support the learning and teaching of English in all Key Stages.
